The program involves the development and improvement of four existing sites and two new properties. Two of the existing camps, Whispering Oaks Program Center and Camp Winacka are located in Julian, CA. The other two existing facilities are the Balboa Program Center in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. and the Escondido Program Center in Escondido, CA. The new sites are the Eagle Peak Program Center located adjacent to the two existing Julian facilities and the Mt. Palomar Program Center located on Palomar Mountain. There are a total of 1,684 sleeping accommodations located in rustic and modern cabin facilities as well as fully winterized lodges. There are a total of 144 new or renovated support buildings. There are several hundred acres of both improved and unimproved land involved. The proposed budget is $20,000,000.
