JACKSON CABIN

This Study for a 3,500 square foot private residence captures our client's desire for an "early national park" style cabin in the mountains outside Julian. The site is a promontory affording views stretching from Cuyamaca Lake below, to the desert floor to the East, and from the Palomar observatory in the North to Stonewall peak in the South. The cabin opens on three sides to celebrate the view, yet maintains a low, comfortable relation to the landscape.

Connected to the cabin via a covered walkway and bridge, the Garage is modeled after a national park fire look-out, featuring a third story guest suite complete with encircling deck to offer sweeping views over the top of the main house, and the horizons beyond.
