JACK A. CARPENTER, FAIA
Vice President

"The difficult, complex projects offer the challenge of new exposures and new experiences, which we thrive on."

Jack Carpenter oversees the firm's involvement in institutional facilities, medical research and laboratory facilities, manufacturing facilities, shopping centers, large multi-story and multi-building military projects.

In working with institutions, private users, scientists, doctors, and the military, he brings to each project his skills on:

  • project management
  • project programming and planning
  • design and construction administration

His coordination of Architects/Larson/Carpenter projects ranging form the Salvation Army Headquarters to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Central Plant illustrate his strengths in  forming client/architect teams.

Professional Experience
Licensed in 1969, Jack has more than 30 years of architectural experience. The formation of Architects/Larson/Carpenter is the continuation of his professional relationship with Neil Larson, formed when each was a Vice President and partner with Deems/Lewis & Partners.

Professional Leadership
Jack confirmed his commitment to architecture through early involvement with the American Institute of Architects, serving as treasurer, secretary, and Board Member of the San Diego Chapter. He was made a Fellow of American Institute of Architects for his leadership as Chairman of the San Diego Council of Design professionals.

Education
A graduate of the University of Southern California, Jack is a California State licensed architect.
